Sarah Connor
Tracksuit Pants & Problem Solving: How to Be a Happy Artist (No Torturing Required)
Speaker’s interview will air on Thursday 9th October at 6:00 AM PDT / 9:00 PM AWST
Sarah Connor is a self-taught ceramicist and former graphic designer who describes herself as “a dingdong playin’ in clay.” Based in Western Australia, she swapped pixels for pottery during her second maternity leave and never looked back. What started with a lump of clay and a YouTube rabbit hole turned into a full-blown creative obsession.
Sarah makes ceramics with a healthy dose of character—rad mugs, weird art things, stickers, zines, and objects that don’t take themselves too seriously. Her work is messy, heartfelt, and unfiltered—kind of like life.
Before clay, Sarah spent over a decade as a graphic designer, crafting brand identities for small businesses. That design brain still shows up in her bold colour choices, love of lettering, and her delight in the weird little details.
When she’s not in the studio, you’ll find her roller skating, listening to spooky podcasts, wrangling family life, or chasing short-term dopamine hits like any good ADHD creative. She creates on the unceded lands of the Noongar peoples of the Bibbulmun Boodjah and pays her deep respect to their Elders past and present.
